The course aims to provide front line managers and team managers with a broad yet skills focused grounding in managerial practice and essential business skills.

:: Course Objective
• To train participants in the HR philosophy of the B&L and how this influences their skills and behaviour.
• To understand the issues that influences the performance of employers and the roles of the manager in addressing them.
• To develop the skills to manage a team of people including team facilitation, developing consensus, team interactions and effectiveness.
• To develop skills in the one to one dimensions of people management including delegation, coaching, managing performance, giving and soliciting feedback and dealing with conflict and differences.
• To develop skills in performance management in particular goal setting, review, action planning, dealing with poor performance and implementing recovery plans.
• Developing in participants, a proactive attitude towards people and realising the value to the organisation.
• Developing skills to demonstrate effective leadership in a range of situations.
• Understand the principles and develop skills in delegating effectively.

• Managing team dimensions of you role, team roles, team agreement and conflict
• Managing one to one relationships, coaching and mentoring, giving and soliciting feedback, training and development, performance reviews, corrective actions.
• Understanding and managing the performance of people; needs, expectations, psychological contracts, goal setting, the intrinsic value of feedback, employability.

Certification at Graduate Diploma level in Management.
